If we’re trying to set our LO down with a routine that causes them to fall asleep before it’s over in our arms, should we set them down asleep? Or should we gently rouse them first?

If we’ve set them down awake but they need our help and can’t get to sleep so we pick them up and don’t try again, do you all just rock them to sleep and put them down asleep?

Our almost 7 week old son has reflux. He has a dairy/soy allergy and Monday will make two weeks of eliminating it from my diet so still holding out hope the reflux improves.
