Hi Emma, thank you so much for your great insight here! Starting bottom up, yes, I’d say that schedule is pretty much the norm give or take unless there would be a short nap in there somewhere which would cause us to alter the schedule.

We will definitely follow through on your suggestions! I think 6:30-7am would be the appropriate wake up window to start with. We will also try the feeding you suggested. I always found it strange how she feeds so great at daycare with the craziness going on around her!! Lastly,, we will attempt to move her bedtime up by 30 minutes and hope this helps. We have tried this prior without much success. I will say that when she finally does fall asleep on her own for the night it’s usually closer to 8:45-9:00pm (after her wake ups). I would think by this age (3.5 months) she would be ready to have a bedtime prior to 8pm but we will see! Thank you again so much!!

Hi Emma, thanks so much for your quick reply! We know this is very common for little ones, but we do not remember our other two giving us these struggles, so this is new to us! To answer your questions:

    1. I would not say 100% consistent, but typically between 6:30am-7:30am

    2. Yes, we are…for the most part. I say for the most part, because baby girl also is a ‘grazer’ when it comes to feedings. This is also new to us compared to previous children. Instead of taking full bottles at a time, it is quite often she drinks 1.5-2oz at a time and we have to try multiple times during wake windows. However, this is improving!

    3. We recently transition to 3 naps. I know this is traditionally early, but it is helping a bit with bed time, and when she goes to daycare, she is able to produce happier, longer wake windows, so we are doing the same at home now.

    4. Nap routine will consist of taking her to her crib (or pack n play at daycare), putting sound machine on, into sleep sack, lights go off and we will walk around room/rock while shushing for a few minutes.

    5. Bed time routine consists of going up for bath time around 6:30pm, then into her room away from distractions, maybe some soothing songs or a book, then follow the same nap time routine.

    6. Bed time is around 7:30pm (for the first time lol)

    7. Yes, but does not love it like our other daughter. She often spits it out. She has recently found her thumb, so we are hoping that can help as a pacifier moving forward, as it did with our son.

    8. Yes (with sound machine on)

    9. No. She is in her own crib, which is right next door to us. We also have monitor next to us at all times too.

    10. We will have to pick her up, shush, and walk around room while patting her bum.

    Thank you!!

Hi Emma, thanks again for the reply! To answer these questions: I’d say her first two naps are always the longest, ranging from an hour and 15 minutes to 2 hours. The third nap begins to shorten and is usually 40-60 minutes. If she takes a fourth nap it is very brief, at 20-30 minutes, but it’s getting very difficult to even get her down for this nap. Lastly, she is usually awake for anywhere from an hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours before going down (or attempting to put down) for bed time.

    Thank you again!
