Thank you Emma, I would like to mention the doctor said he has colic which we treat with infacol and do the massage and exercises too.
The child health nurse also said it looks like he’s getting teeth too.
- Can you describe his bedtime and nap routine? We usually take him into our room which has black out blinds and white noise (aircon) and he will feed then rock for pat him upright for a few minutes and then he goes to sleep in his crib. Day time naps are similar, unless we are out – his main way to fall asleep is to feed, but also by rocking and we’ve used the pyramid a bit but we’ve noticed when we use that, he sleeps for less than 30 minutes at a time.
- You mentioned he falls asleep while eating—does this happen for all naps as well? Most of the time but we’ve used the pyramid a few times and he just doesn’t stay asleep very long. He can fall asleep in he car too or sometimes with rocking if we are out and then will sleep in the pram hut recently doesn’t like going to sleep in the pram.
- What time does he wake up in the morning? Is this time consistent? Usually around 7.30-8.30 depending on if he had the 1 hour windows or not.
- During the day, have you been able to follow the wake, feed, play, and sleep routine? Yes we always do but most times he wants to eat again before sleeping. He always seems to be hungry. He puts on b a lot of weight each week at c the child health nurse.
- How many naps is he having during the day, and where are these naps happening? Usually 5. His wake window is 1.5-2 hours but most of the time it’s about 1 hour 45 mins . Sleeps are mostly at home but sometimes in the car if we are out or in his pram . He occasionally has contact naps especially I’d we are out.
- Where does he sleep overnight, and what is the room like (e.g., temperature, lighting, noise levels)? Our bedroom in his co sleeper attached to our bed , the room is cool and dark with black out blinds and we have an aircon running which sounds like white noise and he sleeps better with it on.
- Does he use a pacifier? Most of the time but recently he’s gone off it
- How long is he generally staying awake between naps? 1.5-2 hours
- When he wakes overnight, do you follow the wake, feed, sleep routine without
most of the time but he usually has a poo nappy in the early morning as he has colic.
