Thanks Emma
He will usually wake up somewhere between 7 and 8:30 in the morning depending on how his digestion has been. Usually my husband will hold him to help him stay asleep that last part of his night sleep because he can be so irritable
We follow the feed play sleep to the best of our ability. Sometimes when he is gassy or has reflux he will feed on and off over the hour of his wake window.
Usually for naps and the first part of night sleep we put him in his sleep sack (chosen sack depends on temperature) with one arm out since he is rolling from tummy to back. We use a dummy and rock in a rocking chair. Sometimes we don’t rock at all and he falls sleep straight away. We then attempt to put him down, sometimes he is fine, sometimes needs some patting and shushing and sometimes he will not stay asleep at all unless held. We might try and put him down again for his nap but are not always successful. Recently also he only wants me to put him to sleep and is not happy to stay with my husband.
His wake windows are about 1-1.5 hours, though 1 hour more often than not.
The pram has been in the livening room the last week or so because we only had an air con in this space (we live in an old double brick unit which can heat up like a furnace) but despite being out with us we close all the lights and blinds and keep it as quiet as possible. Sometimes we rock the pram just to keep him asleep in the beginning but after a minute or so we stop and he can be ok. To be honest usually what wakes him from a nap before he is done is gas. Then we tend to hold him to help him stay asleep.
He does use a dummy but only for naps, he does not need nor like it for night sleep (he will actively spit it out if he is hungry, he knows it’s not the breast haha) At night he wakes to feed and is back in the bassinet straight away. He tends to wake 2 times overnight for feeds between 12 and 2 and between 3 and 5. He usually gets 3-5 hours between feeds overnight. Last few days have been shorter because of the heat and possibly some development
We use the ergo pouch sleep sacs
His night routine is pretty similar to his nap routine unless we bathe him. I tend to stimulate him much less for his final wake window. That’s probably the main difference
We have been trying something similar to the pyramid scheme but not with the step of him being able to see us while we shush and pat.
He woke up after 40 minutes in the pram in his room as I wrote this.
