Hi Emma,
Thank you for your reply, we have implemented some your suggestions and it has been working for his night time sleep. We do a nighttime routine ( bath or cloth wash, change diaper, feed, swaddle, turn off light, song, sound machine) and we do give him a pacifier at night. It takes him around 15 to 20 minutes to fall asleep in his crib with the pacifier and sometimes he would wake up one time after 15-20 minutes when the pacifier falls but often he falls asleep for the night. We put him down around 8-8:30pm and he wakes up twice to feed ( at 3 am and 5:30 am) and then wakes up for the day around 7:00. He is now 10 weeks old. The swaddle that we use is the ergopouch.
However, we are still having a lot of difficulties with his daytime naps, I tried the method of helping him extend the naps but I had to stay beside his crib almost the whole time as I had to replace his pacifier about 6-7 times in one hour, if not he would wake up after 10-15 minutes. And I know that he is tired but he seems to be incapable of sleeping in his crib during the day. Hence we have resorted to do his daytime naps in in the car, in the stroller or carrier, which he can stay asleep for least 1-2 hours. Should we try the pyramid method without the pacifier for his daytime naps ?
Thank you !
