    Hi Emma,

Thank you for your reply. I have wondered if his bedtime is later but when I tried a later bedtime, it still took a while to put him down in his basket. I am aiming for a bedtime around 730-8pm. Yesterday when he let me put him down at 845pm, he woke up after 45 minutes then went back to sleep at 945pm for 7 hours. A couple of days, we accidentally gave him a late bedtime of 930pm and he miraculously slept for 8 hours. Maybe I should try consistently for a bedtime around 930…it just feels so late and would mean he would have 6 naps. Is that ok? And does his morning still start at 7am? He usually wakes between 645am and 730am.

I previously tried a later bedtime of 9pm but have to admit I wasn’t consistent. When I did try for a day, he still would fall asleep in the arms but everytime I tried to put him down he would be wide awake. He will consistently fall asleep at 120 minute mark. Perhaps I’m not keeping him awake long enough.I try to put him down around the 60 minute mark when he is fussing, although I don’t see many of the other cues and I could wait for some other signs like yawns in case it is related to purple crying. At 8 weeks, how long would you expect him to be awake before bed? When he slept 8 hours, he also had a short 20 minute nap beforehand so maybe that drove his sleep pressure.

    Best wishes,

    Paven
