Hi Emma,
Oh no that must have been quite a scare! Thank goodness she is fine now!
She has been doing quite well in the sleeping bag and I have noticed her sucking on her hands as well as stroking the back of her head – are these self-soothing behaviours?
I have been able to get her to fall asleep in my arms with less rocking and sometimes with just shushing. When I place her down in the crib asleep, if she wakes up I am able to get her to fall asleep by giving her a pacifier and patting her on the chest.
Her naps have been a little bit better, ranging anywhere from 20 mins to 1 hour.
However, she has been waking up a bit earlier overnight (2:30 AM and 6 AM, compared to 4 AM and 7:30 AM previously) and I wonder if it’s because she is getting hungry earlier. I have tried increasing her feed volume but she does seem to have quite severe reflux. She spits up a few times even up to after 2 hours after her feed and hiccups frequently but at least she is still gaining weight well.
Thanks for your comment on sleep training – I will wait to see how her naps go before considering formal sleep training by 4 months then!
